We’ve been experiencing a heatwave here in the Washington, D.C. area for the past few days, and what better way to beat the heat than to enjoy a cool treat? This mango sorbet is so refreshing, uses 4 ingredients, and comes together in just 5 minutes. It’s the ultimate summer treat.
The sweetness of the mangoes is balanced perfectly by the bright, herbaceous notes of basil. It’s a match made in flavor heaven! Plus, mangoes and basil are both packed with vitamins and antioxidants. So you’re not just indulging, you’re nourishing your body too.
Let’s start with frozen mangoes and bananas, either store-bought or frozen at home.
Add the frozen fruits, a tablespoon of lime juice, and a tablespoon of fresh minced basil into a blender and blend until it’s smooth. If the mixture is too thick thin it out with a bit of water.
Scoop the sorbet into a bowl and enjoy immediately! You could also spoon the mixture into some popsicle molds if you can stand the wait. 😃
